Different than we thought …
Last Tuesday Jon (Johanna’s brother) mentioned that we could come over already with a tourist visa – he believed it to be God’s idea – which our lawyer confirmed as well as an option we could choose for. First we had doubts about the schooling rules for the kids in the Netherlands, but when a friend of ours – who didn’t know what we were thinking about – texted us on Thursday that she had been hearing from God for two days now, about the idea of us going to the US on a tourist visa soon, we knew what to do: so today we booked our flights: we’re flying to Minot, North Dakota on October 4th.
Furthermore, we should mention that Selmar had October 1st in mind all this time as the moment to wrap up everything here and then leave.
This means that we will have to return to the Netherlands for our “regular” visa, but that’s okay. We will keep the Netherlands and the Dutch in our hearts, even if we do look forward to finally get going now.
